Whether used to describe a gold bar or a broth of beef, the term bullion originates from a french word meaning "boiling."
Precious metals are melted (perhaps misdescribed as "boiling" since the metals are only liquified rather than converted into gas).
Typical precious metals include platinum, silver, and gold -- although lately there has been interest in copper and nickel bullion.
I currently have separate discussion on the following topics:
bullion coins
Gold bulllion
silver bullion
platinum bullion
nickel & copper bullion
If you are looking for beef broth, you will have to go elsewhere.
